The Bures music festival presents a showcase of talented young musicians from around the local area. Following the success of its new format in 2008 B-fest is in its 5th year.

The competition is open to solo singers and instrumentalists, small bands and groups, choirs and orchestras between the ages of 9yrs (yr 5) – 18yrs. The competition will also help our budding new stars of the future gain confidence by performing in a large venue. The event will be compared by local guitar teacher and performer James Payze and the entrants will be judge by a distinguished panel chaired by Claire Ashby an ex studio professional and singer. As well as deciding on the winning acts, the panel will present each entrant with a constructive comment sheet to help them further their musical development.

B-Fest Rules

1. Entries to the Competition are invited from schools or individual Competitors ages 9yrs old (yr 5)-18yrs old.
2. Competitors must provide the entry form and an example of their work performed for consideration by the organiser’s .Closing date for entries is 30th May 2009. We will accept tapes, video, cd, mobile phone recordings.
3. Entrees will be informed by post by 20th June 2009.
4. Music should be between 3-7minutes’ duration. Competitors must observe all time limits as shall be determined by the Committee or by the Judges.  Any competitor exceeding such limits shall be disqualified.
5. The festival does not accept any responsibility for late or lost entries due to internet/post services. Proof of emailing will not be accepted as proof of delivery and no responsibility can be accepted for entries lost, delayed, mislaid or for any technical failure or for any event which may cause the competition to be disrupted or corrupted.
6. Entrants will be deemed to have accepted these rules and to agree to bound by them when entering the competition. Failure to comply with the rules may result in disqualification.
7. The decision of the Judges shall be final and there shall be no right of appeal.
8. The Committee cannot accept liability for the loss of (or damage to) instruments and personal property belonging to or in the care of a competitor.
9. Competitors may make their own choice of music.
10. Categories are; solo singers/instrumentalists, choirs, orchestras, groups or bands.
